Sake Club India at Prowine Mumbai and Vinexpo Delhi 2022

Continuing our mission to bring a wide diversity of Japanese Sake to India, we marked our presence at both Prowine Mumbai 2022 and Vinexpo Delhi 2022 spaced just over a month apart. Needless to say, the Sakes wowed one and all at both the fairs. As I write this piece, orders have already been placed for several of the brands by different importers.

Advantage SCI

Our USP of being an Indo-Japanese venture pays off well in bringing together a range of Sakes hitherto unseen in India. Coupled with the Indian market’s sensibilities as regards price aspirations and general Sake awareness, we shortlist only those Sakes to be showcased that may have a real potential to pique the interest of beverage importers. As a result, several of our showcased Sakes like those from the Tottori Prefecture and Nanbu Bijin brewery from the Iwate Prefecture are already selling in the Indian market. As on date several other Sakes are in the pipeline for Indian imports.

Prowine Mumbai , 17-18 Oct 2022

Our Prowine expedition was power-packed with many distinguished people from the Alcobev trade in India visiting us. Our masterclass on Sake was fully subscribed and was one of the most talked about affairs at the fair. The Prowine organisers complimented us as having conducted the best masterclass of Prowine Mumbai 2022.

At Prowine Mumbai 2022, we represented brewers from the Tottori prefecture. As mentioned earlier, many of whose Sakes have since been lapped up by Indian importers.

Vinexpo New Delhi, 1-3 Dec 2022

Barely a month and a half after Prowine, we had to literally make a dash to organise our affairs so as to make a meaningful presence at Vinexpo. We didn’t do badly either by bringing 19 Sakes from 6 Breweries in 5 Prefectures of Japan.

Apart from the Junmai and Ginjo Sakes, these included some esoteric ones like low alcohol (7-8%), yogurt based Sake and fun-sparkling Sakes in colourful small bottles. Once again, we were invited by the organisers to conduct a masterclass, which was received with great enthusiasm.

Even as we follow up on the leads generated during the two major trade engagements of the year, here’s looking forward to a brand new year replete with the joys of Sake.
