Sake Club India
Our Story
It all started in 2020 when Ravi Joshi, an acclaimed beverage enthusiast and writer from India, was invited by the Japan Sake and Shochu Makers Association (JSS) to tour sake breweries across Japan as one of a select group of seven globally chosen individuals.
Impressed by the cultural richness of Sake during his visit, Ravi founded Sake Club India (SCI) as an Indo-Japanese community to share his knowledge and passion of Sake with beverage aficionados in India.
As SCI grew, it evolved beyond its initial vision to become the apex body of Japanese Sake in India, engaging in activities such as events, training, business consulting, and brand representation.
Over the years, SCI has organized notable events in various Indian cities and facilitated the entry of several sake brands into the country. Lately, we have also expanded our footprint to include other beverages like Shochu, Awamori and Soju with the primary aim of differentiating Sake from them in the minds of the consumers.
What sets SCI apart is Ravi’s additional training in various sake breweries in Japan, enabling him to gain practical expertise in all aspects of Sake making and immerse himself in the deep-rooted aspects of Japanese culture and history.
